South Carolina Wins 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl Alma Mater

Steve Spurrier and Sterling Sharpe Take $120,000 First-Place Scholarship Check

Greensboro, Ga. (April 29, 2008) - The University of South Carolina's Steve Spurrier and Sterling Sharpe carded a 12-under-par 60 to earn a five-stroke victory in the 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl Alma Mater at Reynolds Plantation and the $120,000 first-place scholarship donation.

The teams from UCLA and Virginia Tech tied for second with a seven-under 65.

The celebrity round was taped for broadcast and will air nationally on CBS at 2 p.m. (ET) Christmas Day.

In addition to the $350,000 scholarship purse, another $50,000 of the proceeds was donated to the Reynolds Foundation.
